Theatre Cedar Rapids returned to the downtown

area after being out near Linndale Mall 

while the building was being renovated after

 the 2008 Floods, with a new look on the inside

and the outside.

Out on the Cedar River in SE Cedar Rapids,

I spot our National Symbol, the Bald Eagle,

perched up high on a tree limb overlooking

the river.

 

  

  

A painting of "American Gothic" is displayed on

a small barn off of US Hwy 30, east of the 

Palisades-Kepler State Park.

 

Heritage unit and our Nation's Bird

February 1, 2010--This was the first chase of the Iowa Interstate's 

newest heritage locomotive. 

IAIS 513 donned the original Rock Island paint scheme;

seen here at the West Liberty Rock Island depot.

February 15, 2010--My first sighting of our National
Bird, the Bald Eagle. Here he feasts on a carcass
that the Union Pacific trains have left behind.

 

February 16, 2010--Iowa Interstate's heritage unit,

#513 leads the CRIC-16 into Coralville, IA on

a cloudless sunny day.

  

New Years Eve gathering

On New Years Eve on the way home, I came upon

a gathering of deer looking for food. Taken around

21st Street and 35th Ave SW in Cedar Rapids, IA.
