Quad Cities Rocket 2025

The Railroading Heritage of Midwest America hosted a two day excursion called the Quad Cities Rocket to benefit projects that the RRHMA is involved.

This is from the Saturday excursion from Silvis, IL to South Amana, IA with a one hour stop at Wilton for lunch.

Big Thank You to the Iowa Interstate Rwy for hosting their mainline for this event.

We begin this post with a Sunday (June 29th)westbound empty Ethanol train at Clarence with CN power leading the way.

Two days later on July 1st, a southbound grain train from Yetter, IA comes to Cedar Rapids via the CR Sub. Usually this train takes the Hawkeye Sub(Bryant to Linn Jct), but due to maintenance work on the subdivision, the train was ran on the CR Sub.

July 3rd, CP 8781(Hapaq-Lloyd unit) leads K82(252 symbol change), with their train to be put away in Muscatine due to Kansas City’s Knoche Yard being full.
